What is Software Test Maintenance? Developers don’t usually talk about Software Test Maintenance unless something terrible happens. During our Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) phases, we often speak phrases like, “It’s easy to maintain” and “It needs a lot of maintenance.” But we don’t take enough action from the start to make maintenance easy. We create a significant number of test cases as part of the testing process, and in this agile era, they must be updated often to keep up with the application’s behavior. We’ve all been there. It’s painfully uncomfortable, and it requires a lot of effort.

A test report is a document that provides information about the quality of a product or service. It may also include recommendations for improving the product or service. A test report can be written by a team from a third-party organization or by an internal team at the company that developed the product or service. Test reports highlight what was done, what was discovered, and what needs to be done next.

Continuous testing is essential to the software development process, but knowing where to stop can be difficult. Testing will never be completed before deadlines and cannot be a comprehensive practice.

Software testing comes in countless forms, each used at different stages of the dev process. It can be broken down into countless subdivisions, but ultimately, testing is a part of the overall QA process. As such, some software testing best practices cover the wide scope of software testing in general, and others apply to individual test efforts.

As QA Engineers, we create our test cases/test scripts based on customer-centric requirements; sometimes, we further simulate customer data to support specific scenarios (inductive reasoning). For example, consider the Christmas season, the number of holiday movies, seasonal shopping, and figurines.
